Year 1915. Helene Schjerfbeck lives in the countryside with her elderly mother as a forgotten artist. Years have passed since the last exhibition, and Helene has continued to paint only for her own passion. Everything changes when an art dealer finds Helene and her 159 stunning paintings - and wants to organize a large solo exhibition. However, Helene's momentous moment comes only when she is introduced to Einar Reuter. Young Einar is a forester and an avid fan of Helene's work as an art enthusiast. She becomes Helene's believer and also beloved.
