Join a Guided Tour to Get to Know Kayak Canoeing in Äkäslompolo!
On this trip, which is also suitable for beginners, you will get to try canoeing with guidance. We will maintain a relaxed paddling pace and take breaks to enjoy the beautiful nature of Lapland, with destinations including Äkäslompolo and Kesänkijoki. The trip uses basic kayaks that are stable and easy to maneuver. Before departure, we will familiarize ourselves with the paddling equipment, basic techniques, and safety. The nature of Lapland, tranquility, and sheltered waters make the trip suitable for everyone.

Trip Difficulty: Participation in the trip does not require previous canoeing experience.
Bring Along: It is advisable to bring weather-appropriate gear, a dry set of clothes, a water bottle, as well as a hat and sunglasses.

Canoeing trip on Äkäsjoki with a canoe or kayak
River Canoeing in an Ever-Changing Landscape
Enjoyable canoeing trip on Äkäsjoki. The trip is suitable for both beginners and more experienced paddlers. At the beginning, each participant will be guided on the equipment used and paddling techniques. The river flows continuously along the route. Along the way, there are small rapids and riffles as well as calmly flowing stretches. During the trip, you can observe fish surfacing, beaver nests and tracks, and enjoy the riverbed flowing towards Muoniojoki. About halfway through, we will have a lunch break.

Canoeing for the whole family: Relaxing canoe trip on Kesänkijoki
Especially for families with children, this trip paddles along Kesänkijoki at a pace suitable for juniors. One adult and one young person or at most two small children can fit in a canoe. Some swimming ability is recommended, even though Kesänkijoki is shallow and has a gentle current.
