A'la carte restaurant Äkäslompolo.

Those folks who want to eat lightly, there are different choices, antipasto, salad or soup variations. Our chicken or crayfish pasta and vegetable dishes are good choices also for lunch.

A big part of the main dishes are prepared in a gas grill so that for example reindeer tenderloin or beef fillet get their unique taste. Our definite meat speciality is Osso Pucco made out of reindeer shoulder. Arctic char and pike-perch dishes are really delicious.

Another new thing for the winter is our soup or pizza lunch which is quite compatible when it comes to prices as well. We offer every day during the first three opening hours a meal set that includes salad, soup or pizza of the day and coffee or tea for the price of 10 euro.

Along the food we have also been very dedicated with the selection of drinks; we serve great wines for the friends of red, white and rosé wine. Our cheapest wines are also very good quality, but when you invest about 5euros more for a bottlewe can also pour some very high quality wine into your glass. Also not only is our ale selection good, it is also quite comprehensive.

Pizzeria Äkäslompolo.

Restaurant Äkäslompolo has been known during its 2 years existence for its excellent food which is affordable to everyone. Now with the introduction of our new oven we are able to make a great traditional pizza for our pizza loving friends.

Elsewhere our pizzas would be called gourmet pizza but here in Lapland we gladly picture our pizzas as plain great pizza, which taste forms from first grade freshly produced ingredients and the skill of the professional chefs.

We gladly see a bit more trouble than is needed to please our customers. Instead of using factory produced meat we use our own freshly prepared ham, and instead of using the original bagged cheese we grate and prepare our own cheese for the freshness.

Most of our fillings for the pizzas are from Lapland, but of course we also use the first grade ingredients from the pizzas country of origin.

From the riverbanks of Tornio come the slightly smoked reindeer meat, cold smoked salmon etc. Kalamata olives, Mozzarella cheese, river crayfish tails and freshly frozen king boletus mushroom including the others offer you unique tastes which you won’t find elsewhere. Also the traditional cabbage - bell pepper salad is always part of the dish.

Kiosk

Along the pizza section, Äkäslompolo has also a new kiosk where it is easy and fast to get some souvenirs, Light evening snacks or ingredients for a feast. Our selection of drinks consists of sodas, juices, ciders and all kinds of ale's. our just baked bread and sweet rolls are also nice to take back to your cottage.

For the shopping of reindeer delicacies our kiosk might just be the towns best no matter if you look at the price or the quality. The selection however is a bit limited. The products are made by a small family business Tornedal Special Ab from Pajala
