What abilities does Ylläs cater for?
Ylläs has 63 slopes, with something for all levels. The quiet slopes make it an ideal resort to learn in. For those with more experience there are number of more challenging slopes, Ylläs is also one of the most popular places among telemark skiers and off-piste skiers with several fells of untouched snow.

Is Ylläs a good resort for children?
Ylläs is an excellent resort for children. Both villages offer both indoor and outdoor childcare facilities, the outdoor facilities (including park and sledging area) can be used free of charge when the child is accompanied by an adult. Babysitting can also be arranged on request.

There are easy beginner slopes for children in both villages. There are magic carpet lifts in both resorts for children; carpet lifts are easy to use and perfect for complete beginners.  It is also good to know that children under 6 can use the lifts free of charge when accompanied by an adult and wearing a helmet.

The local sport shops also have a good selection of equipment available for hire.

Can I wear my normal skiing clothes in Ylläs, or do I need specialised clothing?
Normal skiing clothes are fine to wear, however due to the different climate to most ski resorts it is good to wear a few extra layers. The general rule to follow is to wear and extra thin layer for every 5 °C
below 0 °C!

Where can I get a piste map from?
Piste maps are available from the information desks at both ski resorts, these are free of charge.
