Canoeing

When late spring arrives in early May, the beautiful rivers will be released of their icy chains. The season for enthusiastic paddlers starts. In the beginning of the summer, when there is lots of water running in the rivers, you can have a speedy paddling trip with a canoe. The season culminates in September when the autumn colours really show nature's beauty.

When going downstream of Äkäsjoki river, there are places for paddlers who like a more comfortable speed, while admiring the surrounding nature. Ylläsjärvi lake and rivers: Vähäjoki, Ylläsjoki, Lainiojoki, Tornio-Muoniojoki are also ideal for canoeing.
