A wide variety of cafés, sites for campfires and resting along the way make cross-country skiing and slalom in Ylläs an experience. In Ylläs you can feel the original atmosphere: in most hotels and cafés you are served by a second or third generation of families. The pubs and restaurants have a wide range of bands playing, the Ylläs after Ski is well known. Doctor services, postal services and other needed services are within easy reach either in the villages or in Kolari. There is an ATM in Äkäslompolo village, but not in Ylläsjärvi, so visitors should have either cash or a credit card.

Ylläs has a vide range of cafes and restaurants from fast food and pizza places to gourmet restaurants and private restaurants for groups. Local shops make sure that everything that the visitor needs is provided in the two villages.
